Stocks pulled back for the closing bell – 3/28/11

Stock prices had been higher through most of the day Monday, but trading headed into negative territory in the final minutes of the session. The telecommunications sector faded after leading the market for most of the day. The energy sector was up, but higher energy prices are bad news for many other sectors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished with a loss of 23 points, or 0.2%, at 12,198. Broadcasting stocks bucked the trend and finished up.


The RBR Radio Index was up 3.429, or 0.9%, at 389.539.

The TVBR Television Index was up 0.500, or 0.2%, to 273.765 – a record high.
