Expectations of strong earnings reports from Apple and Yahoo! pushed tech stocks up on Tuesday and boosted the entire market as well. The optimism was well placed – both companies reported big earnings gains when they reported after the closing bell. For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 25 points, or 0.2%, to 11,117. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite was up 0.8%. Broadcasting stocks also had a good day.
The RBR Radio Index was up 5.544, or 1.7%, to 338.909.
The TVBR Television Index was up 1.875, or 0.9%, to 205.242.
