TEGNA Finally Talks About Its Unsolicited Offers


On March 20, in the latest salvo against TEGNA from one of its largest shareholders, Soohyung Kim — the managing partner and Chief Investment Officer at Standard General — demanded that the broadcast TV company say something publicly about no less than three unsolicited bids that as of Sunday were still reportedly active.

Just past 6pm Eastern on Sunday (3/29), TEGNA’s chief executive and board chairman each decided it was time to acknowledge the trio of offers — and a now-concluded bid from Gray Television that got the ball rolling.
