TEGNA’s Tucson TV Take … With Gray Poised To Play

TUCSON — On Dec. 23, 2013, an option agreement was reached between a company led by former Fisher Communications President/CEO Ben Tucker and a company then known as Gannett Co.

It followed the June 2013 merger of Belo Corp. with Gannett, setting the stage for the latter’s split of its print media and TV business, creating TEGNA.

Now, TEGNA is acting on that option, converting a joint sales agreement into full-blown ownership. But … is Gray Television the big winner?
