MIAMI — Fresh off of its first Upfront in New York, TelevisaUnivision has selected a new Senior VP of Corporate Events.

It’s a newly created role designed to consolidate and “fuel” the company’s global corporate events portfolio.

Taking the post is a former SVP of Content Relations at Nickelodeon who has spent the last five years in posts ranging from a Celebrity Cruises entertainment strategy developer to leading entertainment and events for the Oneida Nation in New York State.

Now in the role is David Katz, and he’ll be responsible for supporting corporate objectives through an integrated experiential events portfolio.

Katz will lead event planning and execution across a broad external and internal events roster, including industry conferences, upfronts, trade shows, festivals, premieres, media day activities, press junkets, industry award campaigns and celebrations.

“I’m thrilled to join a world-class team, laser-focused on creating authentic and lasting connections with an experiential engine unique to the iconic TelevisaUnivision portfolio,” Katz said.

Katz’s resume includes roles as COO of Madison Wells Media’s MWM Live from September 2017-September 2018; and as a Creative Development Manager at iHeartMedia predecessor Clear Channel Communications from April 2004-December 2005.

From there, he embarked on a 9-year run at Viacom, where he ultimately held the role of VP of Global Corporate Responsibility and Brand Solutions.

Early career highlights include two months as a talent coordinator for Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues and as an Asst. Company Manager for RENT, in 1999.
