Lone Star Owner Gets Lower Fine For Location Swap

In January, the owner of a Class A radio station serving a largely rural area to the southwest of San Antonio received a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture in the amount of $8,000 for operating the facility from an unauthorized location and at a variance from its licensed parameters without obtaining Commission authorization to do so.

Tellez asked the Commission to reduce or rescind the proposed fine.

The FCC listened, but refused to eliminate the penalty altogether.
