Texas operator going multimedia with radio deal

Despite its name, the broadcast portfolio of San Antonio-based Super Radio Inc. includes only a low power television translator, Channel 6 K06PB in Uvalde TX. But that situation will be remedied with the acquisition of an FM radio station in a town some 50 miles to the south of Uvalde.

The station is KAJP-FM Carrizo Springs TX. It is of recent enough vintage that the buyer, headed by Isaac Ruiz and Martin Valdes, was compelled to attest on the application filed with the FCC that, it, like the seller, was eligible for a 35% FM auction bidding credit.

The seller is Hispanic Target Media Inc., headed by Francisco San Millan. The price is $290K cash.

The station is a Class A on 93.5 MHz with 6 kW @ 253’. Super Radio lists it’s a San Antonio mailing address; its two stations are to the west and south of that city in unrated radio territory. Uvalde, however, is considered to be part of the San Antonio television DMA.
