DISH, Meredith Agree To One-Day Retrans Extension

In some parts of the country, a sudden wildfire can scorch multiple households in a geographical area in a momentary gust of wind, leaving many to suffer nature’s wrath.


A different sort of fight is also aflame in much of the U.S. Only, the scorching involved in this battle is poised to burn subscribers of one of the nation’s two direct broadcast satellite services.

With 24 hours remaining as of 7pm Eastern Monday (7/15), DISH Network is poised to do what it must do by law — yank local broadcast TV stations, owned by Meredith Corp., across all 12 of the DMAs it operates in.
