Since 2001, a low-powered television station with studios and operations in Rocky Mount, N.C., has provided a local voice to Edgecombe, Nash and Wilson Counties. This includes an affiliation with the Youtoo America network, and a local newscast.
Now, this LPTV is being sold to a local media group.
WNCR-LD 41 in Tarboro, N.C., is being sold by On The Map Inc. to WNCR Media Group.
The purchase price is $75,000; a 10% escrow deposit has been made with Fletcher Heald & Hildreth — the escrow agent in this transaction.
WNCR is channel-shifting as part of the FCC’s post-spectrum auction repack process. The facility is set to move from Channel 41 to Channel 21, and is due repack funds. The first $10,000 of any funds go to WNCR Media Group. Any additional repack funds will go to the seller, until it receives it full reimbursement of its cash outlay.
On The Map is led by Las Vegas-based President Nancy Schwarm Livesay.
The buyer is led by President Bronson Williams.
