Ivis Alexis Padilla believes in the power of Hispanic radio. As such, the media company she manages has just struck a deal to purchase an AM radio station in Durham, N.C.
It happens to be a station the Winston Salem-based broadcasting company led by Stuart Epperson Jr. acquired in December 2020 from Mark Janbakhsh‘s TBLC Media.

WTIK-AM 1310 in Durham, N.C., is being sold by the Epperson-controlled Truth Broadcasting Corp.
The buyer is Padilla’s A&B Media LLC.
It’s a small deal, dollar-wise, with a $10,000 sale price agreed upon. But, it is a deal that preserves a Spanish-language voice for the Hispanic community in Durham.
And, it puts WTIK in the hands of a local owner after being spun by TBLC, which had attempted to operate former Davidson Media Group stations across the late 2010s.
TBLC acquired WTIK, along with nine AMs, an FM and an FM translator, in July 2015 for $3.1 million.
