The station is WFIS-AM Fountain Inn SC. It is situated in unrated territory to the southeast of Greenville SC.
The seller is Golden Strip Broadcasting, headed by Joseph E. Lastringer.
The price will be $40K cash.
WFIS is a Class D on 1600 kHz with 1 kW-D, 25 W-N ND.
It will be the second 1600 facility for TMI – it also owns and operates Class D WTZQ-AM Hendersonville NC, to Asheville’s south. The other two stations overlap one another and are located northeast of Asheville, Class B WKYK 940 Burnsville NC and Class D WTOE 1470 Spruce Pine NC.
