The first attempt made by veteran radio operator Cary Simpson to sell WFRM-FM in the Olean NY market didn’t take, but he’s right back in less than six months with another FCC-filed transaction proposal.

According to broker Ray Rosenblum, the station is currently operating out of Coudersport PA, but is headed for Portville NY. It is commanding a $275K pricetag from Simpson’s Farm & Home Broadcasting Company.
The buyer is Colonial Radio Group Inc., headed by Jeffrey M. Andrulonis. Colonial is already active in the market with WLMI-FM Kane PA and WXMT-FM Smethport PA.

The sale replaces an earlier deal which would have sent WFRM to Barry Drake’s Backyard Broadcasting. That deal fell through last February, and carried a price tag of $325K.

Simpson also sold the FM’s former sister, WFRM-AM in a deal filed late last November. It went to L-Com Inc. for $200K. L-Com is owned by David and Cathy Lent, and it paired the AM up with their own WHKS-FM Port Allegany PA.
