TuneInTuneIn has created the first ever Bumbershoot Radio station, giving millions around the globe the chance to virtually join the 100,000 plus fans set to attend Bumbershoot, the Seattle Indie music fest, this year. In addition to featuring tracks from all of this year’s artists, Bumbershoot Radio will present full, live performances from M. Ward, Passion Pit and more, thanks to Seattle’s legendary KEXP 90.3 FM. Beginning Saturday, 9/1, the first of the live performances from The Bumbershoot Music Lounge will kick off with a set from Sera Cahoone.

TuneIn will also be present at Bumbershoot, sponsoring a primary stage with sets from artists including Keane and Lights and hosting a lounge where Bumbershoot attendees can experience the TuneIn service and enter to win exclusive ticket upgrades and prizes.

Earlier this year, TuneIn also made it possible for people to listen to festivals like HOT 97 Summer Jam in New Jersey and Outside Lands in San Francisco.

“Outside Lands was a huge success for us, and I have no doubt that we’ll see similar results by teaming up with KEXP and Bumbershoot,” said Ryan Polivka, Director of Marketing, TuneIn. “Considering how fantastic the lineup is this year, I’m sure music fans who can’t attend the festival will still want a chance to be a part of it. TuneIn and KEXP will make that happen, while also exposing Bumbershoot to the millions of active listeners that regularly use TuneIn.”

“This year marks Bumbershoot’s 42nd anniversary, and we’re excited to be able to extend the music experience beyond the festival grounds,” said Jon Stone, Executive Director of One Reel, producer of Bumbershoot. “KEXP and TuneIn will allow fans from all over the world to listen to this beloved festival, transforming Bumbershoot from a Seattle-based festival to an international event.”
