Stars from ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC are participating in a public service campaign designed to encourage citizens to engage in community service and volunteerism, culminating in a special week of related television activity.
The Entertainment Industry Foundation is running the show.
It has recruited eight stars for a :30-second spot aimed toward drumming up interest in network activities to promote volunteerism that will take place during the week of 10/19-25/09. Included are Simon Baker (CBS’ The Mentalist), Emily Deschanel (FOX’s Bones), Eva Longoria Parker(ABC’s Desperate Housewives), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (CBS’ The New Adventures of Old Christine), Masi Oka (NBC’s Heroes), Michael Strahan (FOX’s Brothers), Kate Walsh (ABC’s Private Practice), and Rainn Wilson (NBC’s The Office).
The spot begins airing today.
