Introducing TVB’s New Digital Leader


The TVB, the advertising and sales-focus trade association that serves the television industry in the same capacity that the RAB serves the radio industry, has a new Vice President of Digital.

He arrives from a division of a broadcast television company that no longer exists.

That’s because this company, Cordillera Communications, has completed the sale of its stations — creating some prime employment opportunities for staff not being retained by The E.W. Scripps Co. or the buyer of KVOA-4 in Tucson.

Taking the role at TVB is David Buonfiglio, a 20-year digital media veteran who will report directly to EVP/Business Development Brad Seitter.

Buonfiglio took to LinkedIn to profess his excitement over his new duties.

“[I’m] very happy to announce my new position at the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB),” he said on Tuesday. “I feel like everything I’ve done in the TV business has lead me to this very exciting opportunity. Thanks to all my friends who have helped me through this transition.”

At TVB, Buonfiglio will work with members to create category-specific presentations, “further establishing local broadcast television’s digital platforms as the leading digital medium for advertisers and agencies to allocate their marketing dollars.”

He will also work closely with station account executives to enhance their digital strategies and provide cross-platform sales training via webinars and in-person meetings.

From January 2010 through March 2019, Buonfiglio was VP/Sales and Development at Cordillera Digital, based in St. Paul, Minn. There, he was one of the first employees of the digital division formed at the start of 2010.

Before that, he served as President of Barrington Interactive, a division within Illinois-based Barrington Broadcasting.

Buonfiglio started his career in 1994 in the sales department at WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pa.

He’s also been GSM for cable channel NECN.

At TVB, Buonfiglio’s role is a newly created one.

His leadership experience and success developing comprehensive multi-platform marketing strategies will be critical to supporting our members’ business goals.
