CBS Has Nine of the Top 10 Scripted Series

A Rebroadcast of “NCIS” Attracts More Viewers than Any Scripted Program on the Competition

TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY were the week’s top two scripted series in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Jan. 24, week 18 of the 2009-2010 television season.

In all, CBS had nine of the top 10 scripted series as the Network placed second in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

CBS’s 10:00 PM dramas—CSI: MIAMI, THE GOOD WIFE, CSI: NY and THE MENTALIST (Friday was an atypical night due to the “Hope for Haiti” telethon) all won their time periods in viewers and adults 25-54, while CSI: MIAMI, CSI: NY and THE GOOD WIFE also placed first in adults 18-49.  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE posted season highs in viewers and demos and CRIMINAL MINDS posted its best deliveries in viewers and adults 18-49 since its season premiere.
 
For the week in viewers:  CBS (9.55m), FOX (24.40m) ABC (6.31m) and NBC (5.26m).  Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (11.73m), ahead of FOX (9.79m), ABC (8.91m) and NBC (7.71m). 

For the week in households: CBS (6.1/10), FOX (13.3/21), ABC (4.1/07) and  NBC (3.3/05).  In households, season-to-date, CBS is first (7.3/12) ahead of FOX (5.8/09), ABC (5.6/09) and NBC (4.8/08).  
 
For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (3.1/08) and adults 18-49 (2.4/06).    Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.0/10, tie with FOX) and second in adults 18-49 (3.1/08).
 
 CBS’s Weekly Highlights:

Monday, CBS was first in households (7.7/12), viewers (12.96m), adults 25-54 (5.2/12), adults 18-49 (4.2/11) and tied for first in adults 18-34 (3.3/09, with ABC). 
 
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in adults 25-54 (4.6/11), adults 18-49 (4.0/10), adults 18-34 (3.7/10) and second in both households (6.2/09, -0.1 behind ABC) and viewers (10.41m).  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER posted its best household and viewer deliveries since March 2, 2009, and its best adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 performances since April 13, 2009. 
 
ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE (5.6/08, 9.56m) was first in adults 25-54 (4.1/09) and second in adults 18-49 (3.5/09).  ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE hit series highs in these measures. 
 
TWO AND A HALF MEN won its time slot in households (9.6/14), viewers (16.31m), adults 25-54 (6.6/14), adults 18-49 (5.3/12) and adults 18-34 (3.9/10). 
 
THE BIG BANG THEORY won its time slot in households (8.7/13), viewers (15.05m), adults 25-54 (6.5/14), adults 18-49 (5.3/12) and adults 18-34 (4.1/10). 
 
CSI: MIAMI was first in households (8.2/14), viewers (13.22m), adults 25-54 (4.7/12), adults 18-49 (3.6/10) and adults 18-34 (2.6/08). 
 
 NCIS (R) was second in households (9.0/14) and viewers (14.19m); it was tied for second in adults 25-54 (3.9/09, with NBC).
 
NCIS: LOS ANGELES (R) was first in households (7.9/12) and viewers (12.34m). 
 
THE GOOD WIFE (R) was first in households (6.3/11), viewers (9.41m), adults 25-54 (2.9/07) and adults 18-49 (2.0/06). 
 
 CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (9.0/15), viewers (14.91m), adults 25-54 (5.2/12) and adults 18-49 (4.2/11).  CRIMINAL MINDS posted its best deliveries in both viewers and adults 18-49 since the program’s September 24th season premiere. 
 
CSI: NY was first in households (8.6/15), viewers (13.54m), adults 25-54 (4.5/12) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10).  CSI: NY beat the competition combined in households (vs. 6.2/11, +39%), viewers (vs. 9.04m, +50%), adults 25-54 (vs. 3.3/09, +36%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 2.8/08, +25%). 
 
CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (8.8/14), viewers (14.29m) and second in adults 25-54 (4.4/10).
 
THE MENTALIST was first in households (9.3/16), viewers (14.56m) and adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and second in adults 18-49 (3.1/08).
