The Hispanic media company that will soon see new majority ownership and the departure of CEO Vince Sadusky is welcoming a new SVP and Head of Government Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility to its offices in the Nation’s Capital.
Taking the D.C.-based role at Univision Communications is Ron Estrada.
His arrival is the result of the departure of Jessica Herrera-Flanigan, who had been leading those efforts for the company.
It’s a promotion for Estrada, who has been with the company for six years. Now, he will oversee its government relations and public policy team and continue to lead all corporate social responsibility and social impact initiatives.
“We’re excited to have Ron leading our efforts in Washington, D.C., at a crucial time for our company and our community,” said Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer Jonathan Schwartz, to whom Estrada will report. “His years of experience as a trusted advisor to national political influencers and community stakeholders, in addition to his knowledge of our brand and people, ensure that our important work will continue unabated.”
Estrada is known for his role with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, where he currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was formerly a VP at UnidosUS. In recent months, Estrada has visited state capitols around the country and spearheaded Univision’s Cuenta Conmigo (Count with Me) and Vota Conmigo (Vote with Me) civic engagement programs.
