Vevo, CBS Interactive Music Group join forces

VEVO, the new premium music video and entertainment service powered by YouTube, will offer extensive music programming from the vaults of the CBS Interactive Music Group’s properties including Last.fm and more than 90 CBS RADIO music stations beginning next year. The announcement was made today by Rio Caraeff, President and CEO, VEVO and David Goodman, President, CBS Interactive Music Group.
 
Through the deal, live musical performances, in-studio artist appearances, as well as interviews and behind the scenes coverage from CBS RADIO stations all over the country and Last.fm, the leading music discovery service, will be featured across the VEVO Network. Additionally, VEVO will offer music fans exclusive access to select CBS RADIO station events such as KROQ’s Acoustic Christmas and B96’s Jingle Bash.
 
Created by Universal Music Group (UMG) in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment (SME) and Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC), VEVO will launch in the U.S. and Canada on 12/8.
 
VEVO is the innovative online premium music video hub for consumers, advertisers and content owners blending the very best in top-notch music content with YouTube’s leading edge video technology and user community. VEVO content is available on YouTube, on VEVO.com, the service’s marquee destination site, and through a special VEVO branded embedded player. The service will also serve as a syndication platform for additional internet destination sites, expanding the reach of the VEVO brand across the worldwide web.
