Tech company Vipology has introduced its first smart speaker skills product, Vipology Smart Speaker System (VS3), to the radio industry.

The launch comes as the company has signed a group deal with Adams Radio Group, providing the company’s 24 radio stations with the technology.

Per the terms of the agreement, Vipology will work with Adams’ stations to develop a strategic “road map” to optimize each station’s position on Alexa and other smart speakers and to educate listeners as to how to easily access the stations on their smart speakers.

VS3 is presently used by 100 U.S. radio stations.

In addition to securing a station’s brand is fully understood via a verbal smart speaker request, Vipology works with stations in a “customer-informed process” designed to  maximize their placement on smart speakers for cash or barter, and with no setup fee.

Vipology also adds new features and skills for stations without additional fees.

Smart speakers have seen broad consumer adoption in the U.S. in recent months, with increasing momentum in 2018.

A recent study from Juniper Research found that smart speakers such as Amazon Echo, Google Home, and the Sonos One will be installed in over 70 million U.S. households by 2022, reaching 55% of all homes.
