American University’s WAMU’s Bluegrass Country (88.5 HD-2) is now on air at 93.5 FM in Frederick and Hagerstown, MD. This adds to the 105.5 translator in Bethesda, MD.

The expansion of the coverage area for WAMU’s Bluegrass Country was made possible through the acquisition of signal translators, formerly owned by Family Stations, Inc., in Frederick and Hagerstown. The FCC granted the station consent to purchase the translators in a deal that was finalized on 3/14.

With the additional frequency, WAMU’s Bluegrass Country’s traditional American and roots music offerings will reach a potential audience of 2.4 million listeners via analog radio in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
