In March 2021, a veteran radio industry sales and management figure — Walt Tiburski — retired. For the previous 13 years, he’d served as GM and VP of Sales for WAVV-FM 101.1 in Naples, Fla. At the time, Tiburski said he’d remain a business consultant for WAVV parent Alpine Broadcasting Corp. through mid-2022.
That’s concluding … and so is Alpine ownership, as the company founded by the late Norm Alpert and today led by his widow, Donna Alpert, has agreed to sell “WAVE 101.1.”
The buyer is local. And, the price it is paying is notable for its somewhat surprisingly high valuation.
