What Matters For Broadcasters With The New Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. — With the 116th Congress ushering in a divided government, broadcasters will be met with new challenges and opportunities.

A Thursday webcast for NAB members will offer an opportunity to ask questions about what’s new in the new Senate and House, and what this means for their business.

In this webcast, NAB members can directly hear from advocates at the broadcast media lobbying group and key voice on Capitol Hill. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance, as well as during the live presentation.

This discussion will be led by NAB EVP/Communications Dennis Wharton and NAB VPs/Government Relations Shawn Donilon and Grisella Martinez.

The webcast is scheduled for Jan. 31 from 1pm-1:30pm ET.

Meanwhile, the NAB also advises that, based on guidance the FCC previously released, deadlines for non-auction-related filings that fell during the shutdown were extended until the second day of resumed operations.

This means, absent updated guidance from the FCC, these filings are now due Tuesday, January 29.
