Local newspapers don’t get much more out-of-town than does the Los Angeles Times in Wilmington NC. But the left coast organ gave some ink to the upcoming DTV transition in SE North Carolina, now just days away. LAT notes what everybody has been saying – things on the ground — and in the air – appear to be on track for a successful local transition. The question will remain, however, how things will go in places like LA, which unlike Wilmington, has hills, and in every other United States market, none of which will benefit from the single-minded attention Wilmington has received from local broadcasters, government agencies and stakeholder organizations.
