The listener votes are in: Danielle Nussbaum and Hector Ortiz from the Bronx have been selected as the winners of CBS Radio’s 92.3 NOW’s (WXRK-FM NY) White Castle Wedding 2011, taking place this Saturday, 2/19 at a local White Castle. Wedding guests will include, 92.3 NOW’s weeknight (7p- 11p) on-air personality, Chunky as the best man, along with the couple’s closest family and friends.
Like last year’s event, White Castle Wedding sought couples online at 923now.com, who shared why they should win. Listener votes limited the field of 30 contestants to five couples and then this past Monday to Danielle and Hector. Often these were folks who were looking to get married, but couldn’t because of finances or other obstacles.
92.3 NOW morning show host Nick Cannon made the call to the lucky duo on Valentine’s Day. The couple met four years ago, have a son together yet due to money restraints were never able to tie the knot.
Said Cannon: “I could tell when I spoke with both of them that this is a special family and helping them complete their commitment to each other with this wedding event, is going to give them the start they need, while giving them and their family a wedding event they will never forget. Not everyone can say they got married in a castle.”
