They’ve joined forces in a broadcasting partnership where NBC News will be the dominant provider of international and national news for the Buckley Broadcasting-owned News-Talker. The station previously also carried CNN Radio News. On 10/2, WOR aired its first full edition simulcast of “Meet the Press,” and will continue to do so every Sunday morning at 9 a.m. ET. On 10/3, the station aired its first live simulcast of “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” and will continue to do so every weekday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

In addition, WOR will be airing “NBC News Radio” updates throughout the day (distributed via Westwood One) providing listeners with the latest national and international news of the day. The signature NBC chimes will be played before each “NBC News Radio” update as well as the tagline “WOR powered by the world wide resources of NBC News.”

WOR will continue to air regular reports and interviews with NBC News anchors and correspondents. In the past, WOR talkers have spoken with NBC’s Ann Curry and Lester Holt live from Haiti after the massive earthquake, Richard Engel live from various parts of the Middle East, Michelle Kosinski and Peter Alexander live from England on the Royal Wedding, and Chuck Todd live from Washington covering a variety of topics. With this partnership, this diverse coverage of international and national news will continue as the stories break.
