A Class B1 religious FM serving Williamsport, Pa., is being spun.
The buyer is another broadcast ministry presently serving audiences along New York’s Southern Tier, and to the west in the Twin Tiers of Pennsylvania and New York. As such, this deal is a natural growth opportunity for the soon-to-be new owner.
Montrose Broadcasting Corp., owner of WPEL Radio in the Binghamton and Elmira, N.Y., markets, is agreeing to acquire WJSA-FM 96.3 in Jersey Shore, Pa.
The seller is Covenant Broadcasting Co.
A deal struck November 10 and filed today with the FCC also sees FM translator W263AG at 100.5 MHz in Williamsport being spun to Montrose.
The transaction is valued at $475,000, payable in full as a cash deposit per the unique terms of the agreement. It is being held in escrow by Gammon & Grange until closing, following expected FCC approval of the deal.
