WTOC premieres tomorrow

A brand new radio station premieres in Sussex County, NJ on July 1st. WTOC AM1360 will sign-on with Scott Shannon’s True Oldies Channel. The True Oldies Channel is all about the variety, utilizing a music library that is well researched, and is packed with thousands of the biggest hits from the late 50’s, the 60’s and the early 70’s.

Scott Shannon is sure to keep the listener guessing with plenty of special features, including, the true oldies daily countdown of the top 5 hits from a different year every day…..the Rock & Roll Calendar, a quick look back at the music history and the events of each day…plus one hit wonders, forgotten 45’s and cruising classics.  “You never know what’s going to pop up next,” says Shannon.

Scott Shannon is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C. and the Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago, Illinois and is the creator and star of the True Oldies Channel.

“The True Oldies Channel has been a huge success in every market it’s entered and we’re expecting to see the same acceptance and success here in Sussex County on WTOC AM1360,” said Dick Taylor, Market Manager for Clear Channel Tri-State.

The new station premieres on Tuesday, July 1st and will celebrate the 4th of July Holiday with a special “4th of July Summer Celebration Weekend.”  The holiday weekend kicks off early on Thursday afternoon, July 3rd.
