He’s been the interim News Director for The E.W. Scripps Co.-owned ABC affiliate serving Detroit and much of Southwestern Ontario, including London and Windsor.
Now, he’s getting the official ND nod for WXYZ-7 in Detroit.
Earning the promotion is Kennan Oliphant.
He’s known for prior roles including that of Senior Manager of Broadcast at WCPO-9 in Cincinnati. Oliphant also spent five years as a weekend anchor and consumer investigative reporter for WDTN-2 in Dayton, Ohio.
A Detroit native, Oliphant began his career at WDIV-4, the Graham Media Group-owned NBC affiliate serving the Motor City. Other career experience includes a stop at KNOE-TV in Monroe, La., and roles at WHBQ-13 in Memphis; WLBT & WDBD in Jackson, Miss.; and WMBF in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
