CBS Radio’s 99.5 WYCD, Detroit’s Country Music Station, is honoring our troops on active duty and those who have served with live calls from the front lines in Afghanistan and interviews with local active duty members from Selfridge Air Force Base in Harrison Township, Michigan.
The celebrations this Friday begin with WYCD’s Dr. Don Morning Show 6 a.m. -10 a.m. and all day long local families and friends of troops at home and in Afghanistan will get the chance to give on-air shout outs to their loved ones. WYCD’s entire day-long broadcast will be sent to Armed Forces overseas for rebroadcast to Michigan area troops who are deployed.
“WYCD has always been a huge supporter for decades of our local military men and women here at Selfridge AFB and abroad,” said Tim Roberts, Operations Manager and PD for WYCD. “In past years we have broadcast from war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan and we just want to do our part in supporting awareness for those from around the Detroit area who keep us free! It’s the least we can do for those service men and women and their families who are willing to sacrifice everything for America.”
