We asked Mallory Berry, NTR Event Manager, CBS Radio – Las Vegas how they all got it together with the sponsors and venue. As well — how did the recent Ink’d XPo go? Was it is big money-maker?
Said Berry: “X107.5’s Dave and Mahoney’s Beer and BBQ Bash is going to be a great event for us this summer. We have an amazing partnership with the South Point Casino, and working with them as a venue sponsor for numerous events throughout the year. The Beer and BBQ Bash will be held at their gorgeous pool, and there will even be live music on their state of the art main stage. Our sponsors were provided with a month of on air promotion in morning drive, and live mentions throughout the day, digital and streaming assets, print media, casino promotion, as well as the ability to display their business onsite at the event. This celebration is also part of a pre-party with the Lingerie Football League here in Las Vegas, as well as an after party with the ever popular Spazmatics in the South Point Showroom.”
She added, “Ink’d Xpo was a 3 day festival at the Hilton Convention Center featuring renowned tattoo artists from across the country. The key to a successful tattoo show, is to partner with someone in the industry that knows the artists and the demographic, to get some great content for the event and there needs to be a low ticket price. Tattoo conventions across the country can range anywhere from $50 for a 3 day pass…up to $100 per person! We sold our tickets at $10 for one day and $25 for three days. We also worked with the casino for a special guest package valued at over $200 including discounts on drinks and at the casino restaurants, as well as an overnight stay at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel & Casino, and two 3 day passes to the Ink’d Xpo, all for $107.50. There were various contests throughout the day for both the guests, and the tattoo artists, including “Best Tribal Tattoo” and concert ticket giveaways. This really was a great event to work on.”
RBR-TVBR observation: Yet another money-making (we assume) event from X107.5 that ties in multiple sponsors and a venue. The last one – also a first annual – was the Ink’d Xpo – “Chopped, Screwed and Tattoo’d” event held at The Las Vegas Hilton. This is how radio is done and events like these can add a tremendous amount of NTR to the bottom line. When listeners regularly rely upon your station for activities and entertainment, you know first hand how live and local you really are.
