Go Gators … and Bananas, too.

Sinclair Broadcast Group has selected the individual who will succeed Cory Culleton as the leader of the two Gainesville-Ocala stations it provides services to and the FOX affiliate it owns in Savannah, Ga.

Earning the role is Hilary Walker, who rises from Local Sales Manager to VP/GM of CBS affiliate WGFL-28 and NBC affiliate WNBW-9 in Gainesville-Ocala while taking on concurrent duties as the head of WTGS-28 in Savannah. WTGS is the Coastal Empire’s FOX affiliate

“Hilary has a history of success in the Gainesville market and deep roots within the community,” Rob Weisbord, Sinclair’s Chief Operating Officer and President of Broadcast,  said. “We are excited to elevate her to lead the stations in Gainesville and add her expertise to Savannah.”

Walker commented, “Sinclair Broadcast Group continues to evolve in the media landscape, providing the best experience for its viewers and clients. I am honored to be a part of the team and couldn’t be more thrilled to lead the exceptional people in Gainesville and Savannah to build on their successes.”

Walker’s promotion comes just two days after Culleton, who was VP/GM in Gainesville-Ocala, relocated to Mobile-Pensacola. He is now VP/GM of ABC WEAR-3 and MyNetwork TV WFGX-35 in Pensacola, Fla., and also responsible for overseeing the shared services agreement with NBC affiliate WPMI-15 and nonaffiliated WJTC-44 in Mobile. The latter two stations are licensed to Deerfield Media.

Prior to joining Sinclair Broadcast Group, Walker was a Media Consultant for Cox Media Group. She also served as an account executive at WOGX in Gainesville.
